In the interior of a cell that I observed in the pharmaceutical laboratory, I witnessed each organelle floated and interacted in euphony. Recognising that we are all cells, I explore the intricate dynamics that unfold within and between them. When this delicate equilibrium is disrupted, the resulting dissonance fragments the essence, depriving it of wholeness. I delve into the parallels between our personal and social struggles and the distinctive attributes of cells.
Through my artistic endeavors, I aim to interpret the interplay between my introspection and the external environment, employing the lens of cellular features such as their naive interactivity, non-hierarchical spatial arrangement, and semi-transparent membranes.
My work amalgamates the interaction of natural and artificial materials, as well as analogue and digital mediums, intertwining intentional opportunities with unforeseen moments of serendipity. The membranes, composed of ceramic, thread, papers, noise, and sound, activated by sensors that detect viewer presence and trigger sounds, serve as conduits for interaction while simultaneously acting as barriers that demarcate the boundaries between self and non-self or defined and undefined spaces. These physical and psychological layers have the power to alter or distort our perception of images, influencing our cognitive processes.
Within the realm of a cell, primitiveness and modernism coexist, intersect, and evolve in synchrony with the passage of time. Both evolutionary processes encompass elements of partiality and holisticity, evoking the ethereal harmony intrinsic to cells while also lamenting the loss of life commemorating the birth and resilience of all living entities.
